Autor (あおとあ Aotoa) is a music student at Gold Crown Academy. He makes several minor appearances in the second season, and is officially introduced in Akt 21.

Personality[]

Autor is somewhat snobbish, and well known for his ability to set a short-tempered Fakir off. He is obsessed with Drosselmeyer and his powers, even to the point of creating almost an exact replica of Drosselmeyer's study. Notably, he seems to have an infatuation with Rue, and expresses that his affection for her is pure; though she rejects him, he never takes his feelings back.

History[]

Autor is seen several times before his introduction, seemingly stalking Fakir in an attempt to gauge his abilities. After realizing that Fakir is a direct descendant of Drosselmeyer, Autor takes the role of an unwanted mentor, encouraging him to use his inherited writing powers.

When it is discovered that Fakir has powers almost as strong as that of Drosselmeyer's, Autor becomes jealous of his involvement in the story, though it was Autor himself who encouraged him to write. It is then revealed that Autor thought that he was the one with the ability to write stories, not Fakir. Despite his jealousy, he still continues to assist Fakir in realizing his powers.

In Akt 22, Rue seduces Autor in order to feed his heart to her father. However, Autor professes his love for her, which casts doubt on her father's words that no one but he and the prince could love her. Conflicted, she lets Autor go.

During the final battle, he helps Fakir while he's writing to change the outcome of Drosselmeyer's tragic story. After seeing the people of Gold Crown Town transformed into crows and witnessing Drosselmeyer's control over Fakir, Autor joins his desperation to save Duck and help Mytho defeat the Raven. When Sinclair, the leader of the Book Men attacks, Autor barricades the door and is able to fend him off with a book, allowing Fakir to keep writing.

At the end of the anime, Autor is last seen yelling at both Hermia and Lysander at the library to keep quiet.

Autor does not appear in the manga.
