The Book Men
The Book Men are a group of mysterious figures that call themselves the protectors of stories. Long ago, their ancestors cut off Drosselmeyer's hands so he wouldn't be able to distort reality with his writing.
In the present, the Book Men try to keep Drosselmeyer's stories from coming true by tearing out the endings of his books. They can sometimes be seen lurking in the shadows of the library. Their leader is an old man named Sinclair, who runs the used book store in Gold Crown Town.
When Autor tells Fakir that he is Drosselmeyer's descendant and the inheritor of his power, the Book Men become concerned, and decide to take action when Fakir attempts to write a story. Before they can cut off his hands, however, Princess Tutu protects him. The Book Men take her appearance as a sign that the story has progressed to the point where they can do nothing. Even so, they warn Fakir to write responsibly, lest he meet the same fate as his ancestor.
When the Raven is resurrected by the restoration of Mytho's heart, all members of the Book Men except Sinclair are transformed into crows, with Sinclair only partially transformed. He makes a last ditch effort to cut off Fakir's hands, wielding an axe to break into Autor's house. He is only stopped through Autor's efforts to protect Fakir.
