Gold Crown Town is the main setting of the story. It is a place where stories and reality intermingle and is surrounded on all sides by a large wall with fives gates. The most notable location within the town is Gold Crown Academy, the school that most of the cast attends. People can come into the town, but once they do they never feel the desire to leave, and can't even if they try, as demonstrated when Duck was met with an infinitely tall wall the magically turned her around when she jumps through it. Some people who come into the town turn into talking animals and forget that they were ever anything else. Drosselmeyer can somewhat control what happens in the town from his grave through the use of a machine located in the town's clock tower, though Fakir can also influence events through his own writing.
