Gold Crown Town is the main setting of the story. It is a place where stories and reality intermingle and is surrounded on all sides by a large wall with fives gates. The most notable location within the town is Gold Crown Academy, the school that most of the cast attends. People can come into the town, but once they do they never feel the desire to leave, and can't even if they try, as demonstrated when Ahiru was met with an infinitely tall wall the magically turned her around when she jumps through it.[1] Some people who come into the town turn into talking animals and forget that they were ever anything else as shown in in Akt 6. Drosselmeyer can somewhat control what happens in the town from his grave through the use of a machine located in the town's clock tower, though Fakir can also influence events through his own writing.
At the end the town was returned to normal – no longer a mix of fairy tales, the townfolk forgotten about Rue, Mytho and Ahriu, there are no longer any animals acting like humans and they humans again except Mr. Cat who became a normal cat again and the town become no longer cut off the rest of the world.
The name of the town is first mentioned in the episode The Forgotten Story, by Raetsel.
Fire Festival[]
It is a festival that townsfolk dress in traditional clothing and danced around a bonfire. A Golden apple is given to he the couple who danced most exquisitely at the event. It is said the couple who get the golden Apple will bound together forever. It only appeared in Episode 5.
History[]
It was once a normal town until after Drosselmeyer death and his machine come to life that allowed him to control Gold Crown Town as it was in a story by writing a story though he actually can only somewhat control what happens in the town thus Gold Crown town have gotten trapped in a pocket dimension influence by his writing for many years and that Prince Siegfried and The Raven of The Prince and the Raven escape from their book into the real world and continued their battle made both thr reality and the story intermingled. The Raven attacked the town so Mytho used forbidden magic to shatter his heart to seal the Raven away[2] [3][4] though it cut the town off from the rest of the world.
At some point presumably after the battle; one of his raven servants stole a baby Rue from her own parents[5] on a whim[6] so she could be used to unseal The Raven and get Mytho heart to be eaten by the Raven. Thanks to the story and Mytho sealing the Raven away which 5 of his heart shards went into the town gates[5]to keep the Raven away; it also cut off the town from the rest of the world as well as making animal anthromorphism appear and make it normal because of the story and reality intermingled.[3]
Then soon a few years later a Crow attack happened when a child Fakir tried to stop it with it stories that he wrote it didn't go as plan and it caused his parents death.[7] It was this crow attack where Rue meet Mytho.[5]

Trivia[]
- The town in the series is based on Nördlingen, a German town. It shares the walls and a number of landmarks which are seen during the series.
- Another anime, Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin, also uses this town as a base setting.
- The town sky was covered by a fog while it was under the spell but it was lifted when the town returned to normal.
- The animal anthromorphism was due to the spell the town had been put under.
- Gold Crown Town isn't given a specific location but it could be set in Germany since nearly all of the text shown in the series is German which also include a map of the town, and the town itself is heavily based on a German town name Nordlingen that’s in Bavaria.
