The Heart Shards are pieces of Mytho's heart. When he fought the Raven long ago, the Prince shattered his heart with his own sword in order to seal the monster away. The shards were scattered throughout Gold Crown Town, and many of them found homes in the hearts of others. It is Princess Tutu's mission to find all of the shards and return them to Mytho.
Five of Heart Shards were used for the seal that protect Gold Crown Town from the Raven until they were removed in Episode 24 but it led the Raven to come back as well as making the town be cut off from the rest of the world.
Each heart shard has two forms. At first they usually resemble ghostly, red-tinted versions of Mytho. After Tutu retrieves them, they turn into small pieces of red stone. Each heart shard also represents a different emotion.

- Fear - Found in Akt 6, possessed by Paulamoni.
- Desire for Knowledge (Curiosity) - Found in Akt 7, possessed by the River.
- Devotion - Appears in Akt 9, possessed by Malen.
- Regret - Appears in Akt 10, possessed by Karon.
- Love - Appears in Akt 11.
- Pride - Appears in Akt 18, possessed by the Ghost Knight.
- Five unnamed shards: Possible feelings, Anger, Determination, Courage, Wisdom, & Disgust - Appear in Akt 24.
- The Pendant (Hope) - Appears in Akt 1.
